Western Drug & General Store

Western Drug & General Store is an Experience. With a historic, charming, western atmosphere it's like a walk down Memory Lane.

Western Drug and General Store has been a unique part of Round Valley and the area for 80 years. It has a rich history of taking care of peoples' needs as a pharmacy, sporting goods and general store.

Established in 1934 by Ellis Chitwood, Western Drug was purchased by Merle Harper in 1958, and he ran the store successfully for many years. He moved the store across Main Street to its current location in 1978. Expanding the small pharmacy to a full-line store of more than 18,000 square feet proved Merle was ahead of his time.

Today's store is run by Merle's son, Fred Harper, his wife, Deb, and 40-plus helpful and knowledgeable employees.

Western Drug sits in the center of Springerville-Eagar, the "Gateway to the White Mountains," where year round outdoor recreation opportunities are limitless. Hunting, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV trails will keep you busy during spring, summer, fall and winter.

Western Drug and General Store features craft and sewing supplies, school and office supplies, household goods, gifts, toys, games, models, puzzles, guns, rifles, ammunition, camping, fishing and hunting supplies, health and beauty aids and assorted unique merchandise. You will love visiting the 1876 replica of the Becker Brothers cabin displayed inside the store!
